Marion Nugent Cowan,
President and CEO
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Marion moved to Indiana in 1983. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, is a Certified Home Care Administrator and is also certified in Hospice and Palliative Nursing. Marion joined the VNA in 1995 with 20 years of varied nursing experience. She began her tenure as a hospice volunteer, then moved into positions first as a Hospice staff nurse then Hospice Director from 2001 – 2013. In August 2013, Marion was named President and CEO. Marion is active with the Pennsylvania Home Care Association where she serves on the Board of Directors as well as the Education Committee, and is the President of the Board of Directors of the VNA’s of Pennsylvania.
Director, Home Health
Mary is a twenty-five-year employee of the VNA in a variety of positions from RN Case Manager, Tele-health Coordinator, Clinical Staff Supervisor to Quality and Compliance Coordinator. Her prior work experience includes medical/surgical, intensive care and cardiac care units. She is a graduate of the University of Akron in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2008 with a Masters of Nursing Education. Mary was promoted to Director, Home Health in May of 2017.
Director, Hospice and Palliative Care
Kim earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Science in Nursing from Regis University, Denver, CO. She is certified in Hospice and Palliative Nursing through the National Board for Certification of Hospice and Palliative Nurses and is an End of Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) trainer. Kim has been with the VNA Family Hospice program since 1994, first as a nurse in the field for 16 years, then as the Education/Program Development Supervisor, until becoming the Hospice Director in August of 2013.
Director, Extended Home Care
Maureen Bonatch has served as the Director of Extended Home Care since 2003. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration (MSN) from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Maureen has been certified as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Her other areas of expertise include nursing education, psychiatric nursing and women’s reproductive health.
